Time for another but small daily update on Folly Times.

Captain's Log #

Today I've done 100 races and work fatigue kicking in again.

Stat Tracker Tweaking Again #

Yesterday I've spent more time trying to improve the stats page speed, and I'm happy to say it's improved a little. I added a little cache on top of the stat system to track Time A to Time B while producing stats... What that basically means is, stats will load a bit slow on first load, but it'll gain some quick speed again.

The caching method could be improved better if I were to use another data storage, but that would have to wait for now (more research and server resources required).

Future Website Plans #

With Stat tracker a bit refined, I think I can finally start moving on to Folly Time Member achievements page. This will be a simple system that tracks progress of our Silly Entities and tag achievements labels on each racer.

But I also want to go back to moving all the current website work into a more modern framework. Decisions, decisions, decisions hehe.

Nitro Type Blocks Australia Part II #

Through the grapevine of other Australian players... I heard Nitro Type's recent block is to do with the recent attacks on the server. I figured that would be the case, but I find it a bit silly.

Note, this is just my speculation.

NT server was still attacked after countries like Australia was already blocked on the race servers... As far as I could notice, those race servers no longer block Australia too. Only the Website itself is now blocking AU IP addresses through Cloudflare.

So I'll let their Dev Ops team deal with the issues for now... While I go wahhhhh at 12th day on VPN today.

Team Update #

I've been hearing more ladder drops lately so let's try to defend the ladder.

Inactive Member asking to Apply Again #

Same story, inactive kicked, ask to come back. My response: "Take a break, Come back August". I'm not interested with dealing with former inactive people. Please read ahead for my next plans.

Current Inactive Members be Warned #

I'm taking it easy on July... but on August expect me spring clean on 1st August 2021 8:45AM EST (or maybe start of next season). The ones that have been taking a holiday are surely back by August. Only a rare select few will stay on the team. I'm aiming to roll out more team updates with a clean slate (think of this as a new season within my team). New Daily Req will be 50 races per day (maybe, tbc).

If you don't want to be kicked during August, please contact me why. Also please advise me when you think "Summer Break" is over.
