Hello Silly Entities!

Time for another daily update on Folly Times.

Captain's Log #

Today I only had time for around 52 races today. I think my grind endurance needs work again... but happy to reach 128 WPM avg at one point and sometimes getting a 140 WPM once in awhile. I'm wondering if I'll do any better from my home computer hehe.

For the rest of the day, I'll be looking at more web stuff and keeping contact with Graphic Designer.

Website Work #

Last night I realized I needed to fix stats tracker again for weekly blitz. It's gone super snail with all the recent "tweaks" wah... Main reason being there's too much checking involved against players that left within the period. I might go patch it up again or just leave it for now.

Main focus would be to find another web design template I can use for the upcoming Team Logo and Mascot Character.

Team Update #

No comment. I'm too busy focusing on rolling out new team plans.

Goodbye MagicSpakleCat and bananachoc #

Today I received emails from MagicSparkleCat and bananachoc letting me know they are leaving the team due to inactivity.

MagicSparkleCat has been an original member on this team since I started pushing the team on LB around March. I promised the original members I would be putting their names on the website as "Founders of Folly", but never got the chance to do it. I hope to still do this soon with the achievement system!

bananachoc was one of the newer active racers on the team. Unfortunately, bananachoc updated name to saying something along lines of 1 week break.

Big thanks to the both of then and I'll greatly miss them. However, they also have mentioned they might come back in the future. But no problem if you don't! I'm not going to go sharking over it :), both have earned my respect and again hope to reflect that on the website soon.

Hiring Graphics Designer Update #

I decided to close positions on this role, due to the recent samples given to me by current artist. I still need some web design idea for this team page...

See /help-wanted for more info on what I've been asking for. But do note positions are closed right now.

Mascot Character #

It makes me happy to see one of my fictional characters (being case of Silje P. Entidy) come to life! It's way better than my original drawing and while I like to draw and create fictional stories, I lack art fundamentals hehe.

Origin Design #

Someone from a NT Team Server (which I left) pinged me and asked who "Silje P. Entidy" was. I didn't feel like answering at the time but now I will for the artist and just because I'm happy:

Silje is a main character in a prequel story of mine. She lives in the "Ruler" Universe, a place where 2 Races have dominated the entire universe and learnt to co-exist with each other through a complex system (think scheduled battles to resolve decisions hehe). Silje has a rare condition that prevents her from ageing beyond a certain age and cannot die from old age, this is termed an "anomaly" and breaks the system. Everyone is against anomalies regardless of same race (both races can have the same rare condition) and they aren't protected from the Ruler's System.

Another main character in this story is a long forever friend (another anomaly) of Silje who is fighting against the system. The other character has unlocked Silje's power using her own infinite Lifeforce Energy through the "Silly-con Spring" bracelet. Her power is to manifest material through imagination in the shape of a spring and to do this, all she has to do is say: "Silly... name of object!". For example: "Silly... Rope Twist" summons a spring around the opponent and the spring compresses and traps the victim. All anomalies have the ability to learn everything they could ever want through long life experiences as well as having some special ability through Lifeforce Energy.

The word "Folly" comes from Silje's catchphrase insult joke compared to the other character's "Idiot" line.

The ending of the prequel is basically the Ruler Universe discovers a new Universe and planned to take over that world. During that time, Silje has recruited a team of other Anomalies and planned to leave the Ruler Verse and close the gate. But the only person stopping her is the other main character. The events unfolded is called: "The Silly Revolution". And so things worked out in the end, people died and Silje is now in a new universe which leads to my Main Account's name hehe. The end? (the events lasted lots and lots of years thanks to the immortal factor)

Of course not going to explain the details or write a book because it's more a fun self project to overcome depression.

Consider this version of Silje and Folly Times an Earth-2 variant hehe.

The Team Logo is coming along nicely. I need to be test it out on various color schemes, I hope not to drag on this too long as I really want to pay the artist for doing the good work so far.
