Hello Silly Entities!

Time for another daily comp while we do daily blitz this week hehe.

Captain's Log #

Last night I did another 90 races to complete 250 yesterday before going to bed. Same dead hands again... Also I kinda went to bed at 4:45am wah because I was doing some dev work on the stat system and dealing with "calculated points" (see below about that).

Today, I've done 150 races so far. For some reason, I manage to wake up at 10:30am and did 50 races but I was definitely not awake and choking lots on the race track. Besides that, I did the other 100 races before writing this news post. I'll never be able to claim my speed back with long grinds wah...

I might do more racing after this news post... Might as well claim the Manta on this account hehe.

Same usual antics: Spammed Broken Heart stickers to let racers know I need some wins over not using Nitro. Because everyone is sooo kind and not-cheating, I completed the challenges hehe (sarcasm?).

Website Work #

Had a look at the unfinished work on Stat System, fixed some nit picky coding fails over my use of the Headless Browser scraper (unfortunately I didn't write this in Python and use that Cloudflare Scraper package hehe).

Calculated Points #

I spent some hours beyond midnight to deal with Calculated Points. As everyone knows, I'm currently just using season points to track the points gained (most accurate source). But this doesn't fare too well against change of seasons wah...

Problem 1: Failed to Read Formula #

While doing the supposed formula for points (as seen on https://www.nitrotype.com/news/read/100/introducing-seasons-)... had some confusing problems with it.

But as of writing the news... I misread it oops hehe. The formula is: (100 + (wpm / 2)) * acc %, I had 100 + ((wpm / 2) * acc %) hehe. Big difference!

Big thanks to some FOLLY Members only doing one race a day as a way for me to test... ._. Your reward will be k... No comment! hehe.

(NOTE: Unfortunately, it will never be the most accurate thanks to lack of individual race logs)

Problem 2: DB Performance #

To do calculated points, I have to setup the stat query to check through ALL NT TEAM DATA LOGS BETWEEN X AND Y IN 15 MINUTE INCREMENTS.

This is already showing that it'll be slow. With the current stats system, I only had to check X and Y logs only. With this change, I'll have to look at the logs between X and Y too wah.

Hoping to solve this through my not awesome database admin skills hehe. Maybe I have to denormalize things or "precalculate" on updating stats every 15 minutes... Relational DB ftw ._.

Also... #

I setup the NT Profile Racer scraper... Not a big deal, and I don't intend to use it (yet).

Same story. But it seems Hot_Keys 2.0 has pulled in some weight :O. Could this be a Tortoise vs Hare situation??? We shall find it soon hehe.
