Time for another daily news.
Captain's Log #
Last night I did another 50 races to reach 200 races. Today I have done 200 races so far (as of writing this news post). Still haven't got the sluggish hands but slowly getting there... Expect to be back to snail speeds tomorrow wah... (Linear vs Tactile keyboards hmm hehe)
Ignore the World Part VII #
Originally I was going to do Folly Times stats this weekend, but with the upcoming week being super busy and tiring (programming is boring kids)... I decided to just continue on with this little fun project.
Feature: Block Users #
I added in the block user feature and making use of IndexedDB to store the data. This poor test victim got the block treatment D:
Once a user is blocked, I can't see the racer ever again on the "Safe Space" chatroom hehe. I can't even unblock the user (because I need to add in the other feature hehe). But don't worry, it's not truly hidden with the Real Race Result screen showing the names.
PS. You were the only one of the few that was online... sorry hehe. But ngl, still muting your meaningless stickers.
Another fun fact: Would love to test this on President Spam and Not Final Alt Account... both decided to promote themselves and race in the 140wpm league...
Feature: Teaching Instructor on Chat #
The chat seemed a bit empty... so I added in a fake chat message from a "Typing Test Instructor". Main reason was just to have another place to track down the countdown... But I had a bit of goofing around and program a joke message when triggering the "Next Race ASAP" feature:
I might get rid of the fake chat user it but I think it's funny hehe.
NOTE: My sense of humor might not reflect the norm
About that New Chat #
When I was doing the new chat design... I wanted to override the existing Nitro Type key shortcut stickers... But lol nope jk, Nitro Type needed to attach key binders on different parts of the HTML DOM... It took a while to figure out their little trick, but GG, I guess it's got a lot of "cross browser and OS issues".
I love the new sticker key bindings and now I made it even more useful for friend race. I believe Nitro Type hasn't set that one up yet... (could be wrong).
Quick guide:
- S - Show/hide chat stickers
- C - Show/hide friend race chat message stickers
- 1-8 - Show selected sticker
The animation for hiding the chat stickers is so addicting hehe.
Fun Fact: Nitro Type has a "No Problem" friend race sticker... but it's not used :/
Upcoming Feature Before Releasing it #
I need to make it so I can unblock users. I'm thinking of adding a hidden page on Settings where you can see all mute and blocked users. I can also update the Racer Profile page to display a "Unblock" button in too...
I might make a video on it later, but we'll see (my commentary skills are poor wah). More details to come later about the script being published.

Again A little hint... #
AGAIN must repeat this for this week wah...
I'm going to drop a little hint that we might need a few racers to step up temporarily again for the upcoming week. I'll be watching the team performance this week from now. Good luck, have fun!
BTW: I'll still be doing my usual grinds, even though I'm busy this week IRL.
