Time for another daily news!

Captain's Log #

Today I only had time for 75 races. During the 75 races, I decided to go chaos mode on 120WPM league to finish off the last: "1st without Nitro" hehe... Those poor fools thought I was crying tears with me spamming heart break stickers, but lol nope jk, bursted a 152 WPM compared to their 132 and 137 WPMs hehe. (fun fact: I blocked them on my "ignore the world" script, but I had the feeling I was racing "other people" hehe).

Still waiting for people to invite for 40K races on the main and stuck with "game project".

Ignore the World Script Popular? #

I've been tracking download counts on Nate Dogg's Greasyfork page... It seems my SafeSpace script is still getting some downloads hehe.

Originally it was a joke script that worked good enough, but I've been collecting some bugs and feature idea. One example was that script didn't block things properly on the "Guest Race" (aka, the test with "quick brown fox").

Would be nice to know who's using that script outside of Folly Times hehe.

Haven't checked the grind counts today and I did note we still on Top 50 at the time of this post hmm. #y

Some Bad News? #

Comp Raffles and Gold Points #

I'm still working on the dev side of raffles and don't have a working system.

Worst case scenario, I will manually handle raffles using the existing stat system. I'll work my best to get it launched by 25th February. To compensate, I might throw away a gold award during Super Blitz to the best grinder.

To recap, here's the current rules:

• Comp lasts for 7 Days
• Most points wins Gold (new or renewal this time)
• 10x 15 million prizes to give away via raffles

Raffle rules:

• 25 races will earn you one raffle ticket (can be within the 7 days, but ideally you should be doing 25 races a day)
• Every day during blitz time, you get bonus raffle tickets depending on WPM, Accuracy and Race Counts (TBA to be properly worked out), you need to do at least 25 races between daily blitz time

Still thinking about the Hiatus #

With work getting in my way still in 2022... I'm looking to cut back on operating the team by March. So far:

• I'm considering not doing Monthly Officer Elections and will manually award monthly officers.
• Less racing, more team website dev-ing

I might still consider doing daily blitz or weekly blitz... Not sure.

I don't have a problem with anyone jumping to another team during the period (apart from the ones that didn't do enough 25 races daily hehe). Join my allies and help them become top 50 or maintain their Top 50 position.

Although having said that, keep doing well without me racing lots, and I'd be happy to keep operating this team. I really only want to spend time rolling out more content for our team and try to make it more "unique" compared to the other teams.

The Makings of Folly Times Part IV #

Right after the news post, former co-captain twilight aka snomnom DM me after repeat racing on 110WPM league. Within a few weeks, he offered to join this team and he offered some co-captain help. He helped worked on a comp, ran an monthly officer election, invited other player like Silly Ivan and Omega Z and created a FOLLY Discord Sever and done a fair amount of grinds. It's really a mouthful and I cannot forget it, despite some "shortcomings" hehe. We are still in contact but he is retired and racing casually as see fit.

During that time, former member Igor joined our team and also did a couple of races and showed off his loyalty. Not too long after that, ack! joined our team when I started running my first Gold Comp.

This was the period where we all were able to stay within Top 50... until... Dark times hehe.

(btw these part segments aren't planned, I don't think I can do a 7 part series hehe)

Daily Blitz Powered by Lacan NT Discord Spot #

I use to run daily blitz using a python script and when Folly Discord was out, I started using Lacan NT Discord Bot to do comps. It's what LDT uses and I have some respects to the dev for doing all of that work.

Silly Ivan was one of the many uses to keep make use of this and non-stop checking the leaderboard hehe.

Eventually I stopped using Lacan bot because of random nitpicks like:

• Sometimes it's dead
• There was a bug here Display Name names shows "null", try2win4glory opt to fix it by displaying usernames only, which kinda sucked for looking for player names with Ctrl+F. But it wasn't worth hassling him as no one likes a back seat driver hehe.
• There was one incident with Nitro Type started blocking our "scripts" to download team data... they started using Cloudflare to block things and I acted immediately and put in a workaround hehe (I think this happened after I switched over though hmm)

Contact Forms Follies #

After I setup news, I had contact forms setup... It was primarily for people informing me of breaks or inactive periods... As of today, it's hardly used anymore hehe.

Never will I forget those LERS ally request emails :/ (HEY LERS WANNA ALLY? LOL NAH? "Ok")

However, my most favorite are the ones where a new member goes: "thank you for letting me join, I'll do my best" and then do nothing... Another funnier email was from "TRN" Queen and King... they were like: "I was about to quit NT until I saw your team... When twilight temporarily left my team for "cash"... I decided to put the on "break", and they immediately reacted negative via MOTD reactions hehe... #ExposeTheOnlyWantTop50Badge. Jokes on them, I ran a single weekly blitz :P
